Why should I donate to the MWC?

- We are the only nonprofit organization in the Quad Cities that devotes 100% of our time and money to literary arts programming.

-100% of your donation will benefit the MWC and our programs.

- As part of our donor privacy policy we will never sell or trade your contact information.

- The most efficient charities spend at least 75% of their budget on their programs and services and less than 25% on fundraising and administrative fees. At the MWC we spend 87% of our budget on our literary arts programs and services and 13% on fundraising and administrative fees.

- The MWC has a growing reserve fund (in case of a rainy day) and an endowment fund. Annual earnings from the endowment fund are used to support operational costs.

- We are committed to keeping our donors well informed. If at anytime you would like to view our 990 tax forms, please contact our Operations Manager, Lauren Nigri at 563-324-1410.

Help MWC while you shop!

Please consider signing up for iGive.  The logo is at the bottom of this page. Click on the logo and sign up.
Do your online shopping at over 700 brand name stores and the Midwest Writing Center will receive a portion of each purchase, and you can receive a tax deduction.  That is all there is to it.  Once registered you will have an opportunity for some special deals.

“I just purchased United Airline tickets going through the iGive website so that MWC may receive a portion of that purchase. There was no additional cost to me, and that amount will be used as a charitable donation on my 2009 federal income taxes. It is a win-win situation.”
