Do It! Write:  "Inspiration + Imagination = Hope”

The final “Do It! Write!" series of writing classes developed by Joanne Wiklund will be held this Fall.  "Inspiration + Imagination = Hope”
is the theme for the six sessions of writing for adults scheduled at River Valley Library in Port Byron.  From 10 a.m. to Noon on Wednesdays,
Sept.15—Oct. 20, Joanne Wiklund, journalist and poet of Port Byron, will lead the course. She writes a monthly column for The Dispatch,
featured in the Metro East section of the paper, and has edited weekly newspapers and a river magazine.

"Inspiration = Imagination = Hope" will help writers follow the leading of their hearts to the genre of writing they want to do. The class
will focus on how a writer becomes inspired and how imagination can develop ideas for books, poems, letters and stories to tell. Mrs.Wiklund
developed the "Do It! Write!" series ten years ago, which focuses on helping both emerging and established writers.  Registration for the classes
will be $20, due on enrollment. For more information call Mrs.Wiklund at 309-523-2517 or the library at 309-523-3440.

Mrs. Wiklund was formerly an editor of two weekly newspapers, a reporter for the Rock Island Argus, a correspondent for The Dispatch,
The Nashville Banner, The Port Byron Globe, and LifeTimes, the newspaper of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois. She wrote visitors guides
to both Illinois and Iowa cities, and served as corporate librarian for the Dispatch. Mrs. Wiklund also speaks to various church groups,
organizations and school classes on a variety of topics. She has won awards for her poetry.

Registration may be made at River Valley Library, 214 South Main, P.O. Box 10, Port Byron, IL 61275.
