Intellectual Property Laws for the Writer with Ellen Tsagaris

Intellectual Property is a rapidly growing field of law that is important to writers and artists. As technology
continues to grow and impacts all aspects of life, intellectual property law, a basic knowledge in the subject
will in ever-greater demand for writers, teachers, artists and other creative people. The purpose of this course is
to introduce you to the general field of intellectual property (IP) law giving you the “big picture” from which
you can then delve more deeply into specific areas of IP useful to writers and artists, especially The Fair Use
Doctrine.  While we will not offer legal advice, the course will help you become more savvy in finding answers,
resources, and quelling issues that may arise during your writing career.  No legalese-----We promise!
