Writing Center's Fall Poetry Writing Workshop Series
Workshop Description:
Shane McCrae, author of several books
of poetry, will teach a six
session workshop emphasizing the bringing together of individual poems into
both chapbook-length
and full-length collections. Topics discussed will include: voice, form,
subject matter, self-editing, and
self-listening.
Class size is limited.

About the Instructor:
Shane
McCrae is the author of "Mule" (Cleveland State University
Poetry Center, 2011), and two chapbooks, "One Neither One" (Octopus Books,
2009) and "In
Canaan" (Rescue Press, 2010). His work has appeared, or is forthcoming, in
"The Best American
Poetry 2010," The American Poetry Review, Fence, Agni, Denver Quarterly, and
others.
He holds degrees from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop and Harvard
Law School. |

Application Process
Interested
participants must complete the
online application form
and submit two poems as a
writing sample by August 24. The writing sample may be emailed to
mwc@midwestwritingcenter.org
with "Poetry Writing Workshop Series" in the subject line or
mailed to MWC, 225 East 2nd Street,
Suite 303, Davenport, IA 52801. Applicants will be
notified of their acceptance no later than August 27.

Non-members- $210; Members - $180; Students (ages 16-22)

Installment
payment option:
The rates for installment plan are as follows: three
payments of $72 for non-members;
three payments of $62 for members; three payments of $52
for students.
Participant would pay first installment upon application
submission, 2nd payment
due October 1, 3rd payment due
November 1.
